Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC KAZAKH INVEST," Yerzhan Yelekeyev, held a meeting with the General Director of East Hope Group (EHG), Changjun Meng, to discuss prospects for cooperation in the production and deep processing of non-ferrous metals.

As part of its investment project in Kazakhstan , EHG plans to build a large industrial park, introducing advanced technologies in non-ferrous metallurgy to enable deep processing and the production of finished goods. The project’s investment volume is expected to exceed $12 billion, with EHG, a global leader in aluminum and silicon production, planning to supply its products to the European Union, Central Asia, and China. The project is expected to create up to 10,000 new jobs at various stages of implementation.

Changjun Meng noted that the company has registered a subsidiary in Kazakhstan , which will serve as the main operational center for the project, coordinating its further implementation. Preliminary geodetic and hydrogeological studies of land plots in several regions have already been conducted, and the company plans to begin a more detailed site assessment in the near future.

Yerzhan Yelekeyev emphasized the importance of the project for the development of Kazakhstan’s processing industry and highlighted that its implementation would be a significant step in strengthening economic ties with international partners.

"Attracting major strategic investors like East Hope Group opens new opportunities for Kazakhstan. We view this project not only in terms of investment volume but also as a means to introduce advanced technologies, create new jobs, and localize production. The project’s implementation will enable Kazakhstan to secure a key role in the global non-ferrous metals supply chain while significantly expanding finished product exports. We are ready to provide comprehensive support and create favorable conditions for successful investment execution," said Yerzhan Yelekeyev.

The parties also discussed the potential signing of an investment agreement to define key terms of cooperation and formalize mutual commitments. Specifically, EHG expressed its readiness to sign a trilateral framework agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan, marking a significant step in the project’s development.

Following the meeting, Yerzhan Yelekeyev and Changjun Meng expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the initiative and acknowledged Kazakhstan’s high potential as an industrial hub for non-ferrous metals production and deep processing. In the near future, both sides will continue working on the project’s details and preparing for its practical launch.
